Abi Melo

Abigail Melo is a highly skilled Project Manager and Team Lead at Agileana, where she plays a pivotal role in leading the Charlie Team and managing projects with precision and expertise. With a deep understanding of project management principles and agile methodologies, Abigail serves as a servant leader, ensuring the success of her team and projects. 

Her journey into system engineering was inspired by her sister, who has been a guiding role model in her career. Abigail's passion for project management stems from her love of engagement and involvement in projects, allowing her to drive initiatives forward with efficiency and strategic planning.

Throughout her career, Abigail has reached significant milestones that have shaped her into the leader she is today. One of her first defining moments was stepping into a business analyst role while working as a developer. With no business analysts on the team, she took the initiative to communicate with clients directly, understanding their needs beyond contractual obligations. This experience ignited her passion for requirement gathering and client interaction. 

Her transition into project management was another key milestone, as she stepped up to fill the gap left by a previous project manager who lacked technical knowledge. This role allowed her to hone her skills in project planning, budgeting, and execution, solidifying her love for structured project management. Among her greatest professional achievements is earning her PMP certification, a testament to her commitment to mastering the field, with the support of Agileana and her colleagues.

One of Abigail’s most memorable career experiences was working as a project manager and business analyst. Tasked with developing an internal communication tool, she took full ownership of the project from inception to completion. The tool, which she conceptualized, documented, and developed, remains in use today. This experience reinforced her belief in innovation and proactive problem-solving. 

Abigail’s work is guided by core values that define her approach to leadership and collaboration. As a servant leader, she prioritizes the success and well-being of her team and stakeholders. Transparency is a key principle, fostering trust and openness within her team and with clients. Lastly, honesty and the ability to learn from mistakes allow her to create a supportive work environment where growth and continuous improvement are encouraged.
